SNOWBOARDING HELP! :)?

Ok, I’ve been wanting to snowboard for a while now and I’ll be a beginner. Can someone tell me what it’s like to snowboard and to get cheap gear like pants and jackets (I’m going to rent a board, boots and bindings)? And can someone also help me find the right size snowboard for me? I’m a 17 year old girl, about 202 lbs and 5′7” thank you!!!
Oh yeah, I’ll be looking for goggles, gloves and hats too!

Your question is practically impossible.
1. the feeling of snowboarding differs by the day. Comparing it to music sometimes its like a heavy metal scream and others are like Beethoven. The way i say it is "Its hard to learn but fun to do"
2.ahh the infamous "cheap" gear. Shop around for QUALITY gear.
3.If your renting you dont need to know the board size. They are going to give you a 152 or a 155. somewhere in there.

You can get fitted for all of that stuff at Dick’s, Ski Market (although i’m not sure if that’s a chain store) or if not I would try the store at your local ski resort. Also, to get cheap snow pants, gloves, and thermal wear I go to Marshalls and TJ Maxx where they have all of the same name brand wear that Dick’s would for half the price. I’m not a snowboarder, but I ski and from what I understand skiing is easy to pick up and hard to get good at, and snowboarding is hard to pick up but easy to get good at.

I hope that helped & Good Luck!

well first off, when you’re renting they find the size that’s best for you because if you get hurt because of the board, they’re sort of to blame
target sells good cheap pants and jackets
its probably better to get gloves at a sporting goods place so you know they are good at keeping your hands warm
    as for the feeling
    snowboarding is SO much fun
im so glad i chose it over skiing
you feel free and have tons of fun
    and you have hilarious moments
like the first time i snowboarded i snowboarded in jeans! and look at me now, im not that bad! haha
but anyways i not only snowboarded in my jeans (which totally froze my ass offf!!!) i ran into a fence!!
i love snowboarding and i know you will too!

Just get some pretty simple gear for starting out. If you don’t end up liking it, then at least you didn’t waste a lot of money on the accessories. When you go to the rental shop, they will outfit you with the right size everything so don’t worry about that part. Have fun and don’t get discouraged when you fall on your a** a bunch! It’s a step in the learning process, and everyone remembers what it was like. So just have fun…and go hottubbing afterwards. Lol
