Clothing for Snowboarding?
Is a water proof jacket ok? I find a lot of girls and boys wearing fleece jackets instead though (which makes me uncomfortable on the slopes). Should I buy a fleece jacket instead?
Also, where can I get cheap water proof gloves? (nothing over $10 please, my parents aren’t willing to spend that much)
The keyword in your question was cheap. You cannot buy cheap in this industry or you will never be warm. If you want to want to be warm you need to buy Under Armour brand clothing. If you buy cheap stuff I guarentee that you will be cold.

Fleece jackets would be stupid… you fall once and you are soaked for the day… Either get a proper snow jacket or hire the gear… clothes are cheapish to hire in Jyndabyne
Gloves, go to Jyndabyne and there is some shops down there… My pair last year cost $15 and served for the week I was down there. If you are there for a whole season, they will smell like $#!+ cause they are pretty much plastic bags in material and you cant wash em… Buy something decent.
(This is of course if you are going to the Australian NSW snow hills… otherwise, just rock up at the closest town (which is Jyndabyne for us) and buy your stuff there… in the major cities away from the snow or on the snowfields, everything is gonna cost way more…)
Small stores in local towns also offer some pretty good deals in summer. I got a Board, bindings, boots and all clothes (minus beanie
) for $1000 as mine to keep
(US dollar is half the Australian Dollar.) If you can’t find cheap, Ebay something from Australia… you will get a good deal!

unless you never fall, i’d go for a waterproof jacket..fleece might be nice on a warm day, but aren’t very smart to wear! i normally wear a fleece under my waterproof jacket and like that.
and honestly, i got a pair of $10 snowboarding gloves from walmart and love them. i got them because they were dirt cheap and figured they’d last a time or two out but they’re still going strong. other options for gloves would be to look online for sales on snowboarding sites..
