1of2: It is real! ...
1of2: It is real! The idea of a touch sensitive key pad is good-we have build those(i.e., keypad on the thumb & activated by the other fingers). The method of signal generation via index/thumb-contact pairing originated from a specific appl., i.e., while driving in a car or biking (using a different two-finger glove. Here, signals can still be generated (by thumb/index finger contact pairings) w/o taking the hands of the steering wheel or steering column.

2of2: Using index/ ...
2of2: Using index/thumb contact pairings also comes in handy when the # of commands is large, .... in fact with this approach you can actually put an entire QWERTY keyboard on two gloves (video under "crmehring" on YouTube). The snoboard-glove clip shows a lot of contacts on both thumb and index .... that's just because we used an existing remote without playing around with the electronics.

Why is it that it ...
Why is it that it looks just like a few buttons sewn onto the glove? Oh, maybe cuz that's all it is!

Even if it WAS real, the interface is far too complex to be worth anything. Put touch-sensitive contacts on one glove and the controller on the other glove and you'll be in much better shape.
