First time snowboarding…?

November 17th, 2009 — 5:04am

I’m going snowboarding for the first time next week and I’m wondering if I should buy a pair of ski goggles??

Also, does anyone know where I can find a cheap pair of ski pants in toronto?

My first times snowboarding I managed to rent a pair of goggles for about $6/day, take a look around and see if you can do that.

Places like Sport Chek sell goggles for about $30 but they’re pretty low quality. If you want a nice pair you’ll be laying down about $80+.

I’d recommend trying to rent or borrow a pair before laying down serious cash. If it’s a nice clear sunny day you should be fine with just sunglasses.

Snowboarding Goggles?

November 12th, 2009 — 12:23pm

Hello. I am looking for some snowboarding goggles since my old cheap pair finally broke. They need to match my jacket that is grey with some black on it. I have plain black pants also. I can go up to $150. Please help me find a really nice pair of snowboarding goggles that match my jacket and pants! (My board is black, grey, red, and blue)

SNOWBOARDING HELP! :)?

October 31st, 2009 — 3:53pm

Ok, I’ve been wanting to snowboard for a while now and I’ll be a beginner. Can someone tell me what it’s like to snowboard and to get cheap gear like pants and jackets (I’m going to rent a board, boots and bindings)? And can someone also help me find the right size snowboard for me? I’m a 17 year old girl, about 202 lbs and 5′7” thank you!!!
Oh yeah, I’ll be looking for goggles, gloves and hats too!

Your question is practically impossible.
1. the feeling of snowboarding differs by the day. Comparing it to music sometimes its like a heavy metal scream and others are like Beethoven. The way i say it is "Its hard to learn but fun to do"
2.ahh the infamous "cheap" gear. Shop around for QUALITY gear.
3.If your renting you dont need to know the board size. They are going to give you a 152 or a 155. somewhere in there.

Snowboarding equipment for a beginner?

October 25th, 2009 — 5:01am

Im working in Whistler this season and ive never snowboarded before. So im buying a few items on ebay, and in the shops and possibly when I get into Vancouver. Just wondering if people can recommend any decent makes of goggles, helmets, jackets, snowboarding pants etc That dont break the bank but then again aint cheap and tacky.

Seen a few things in TKmax to get me started till I get out there, where i will have more choice and a better idea etc

Cheers

Ive been boarding for about 6 years now and I had the same question as you lol. I found that SPY* optics had good googles for my price range and for jackets and pants I would suggest Columbia* there stuff is good quality and very durable and there prices arent bad either. Hope I was some sort of help if you have any other questions feel free to ask :)

cheers

snowboard pants, what ones should i get?

October 22nd, 2009 — 2:57am

i need a new pair of snowboarding pants that are good and cheap. i am mens size 34

If you want quality it’s best to stay above 10k waterproofing and breathabillity, I usually don’t ride anything below 15k.

These sites usually have some good deals on gear.

http://moosejaw.com
http://dogfunk.com

http://the-house.com
http://www.boardparadise.com/snow/
http://www.whiskeymilitia.com/ – timed sales, you could get lucky though.

@unforgiven yeah I do hope that was a joke cause you couldn’t give worse information.
