so, all you fellow boarders i need help. I need a "lazy man’s" workout/ exercise regiment to get back into shape. I’m really not in bad shape, but i want to be perfect for this season. I’m shooting for thanksgiving weekend to go up to killington, so any help will be appreciated. i need stuff that’s fun to do cuz i lose interest quick. right now i’m playing a lot of futbol, football, and i’ve been breakin, so any other suggestions will be taken kindly. So please suggest some quick exercises and cheap healthy food!

thanks a lot ^_^

PS- my gear- don’t really know. but i got a burton 2005 T6 and it’s awesome! also got dub gortex jacket, but i’m looking for some new bindings and gloves. any help for some good cheap suggestions will be appreciated.

first off, if you never snowboarded before let me tell you you scored some pretty dope gear. that out of the way.

The best way to get into shape for snowboarding is skateboarding. It will get you to understand the balance principles needed for snowboarding. B-boying is good all around fitness and gives you that style you need for tearing up the slopes. But I just want to throw in a not so fun activity just to tell you what the best one is so you can take-it-or-leave-it:plyometrics!
It is the ultimate way to get ready for the slopes but people like you might find it boring…

have fun in the pow pow!!!

I’m going snowboarding for the first time next week and I’m wondering if I should buy a pair of ski goggles??

Also, does anyone know where I can find a cheap pair of ski pants in toronto?

My first times snowboarding I managed to rent a pair of goggles for about $6/day, take a look around and see if you can do that.

Places like Sport Chek sell goggles for about $30 but they’re pretty low quality. If you want a nice pair you’ll be laying down about $80+.

I’d recommend trying to rent or borrow a pair before laying down serious cash. If it’s a nice clear sunny day you should be fine with just sunglasses.

HI wondering if anyone has any other ideas other that AUST Post
to get my snowboard and bag here from Gold Coast QLD to London? or is AUS Post the best way? must be here before 12th JAN ? Cheap as possible .
Thanks for your time , Mike

Snowboarding Goggles?

Hello. I am looking for some snowboarding goggles since my old cheap pair finally broke. They need to match my jacket that is grey with some black on it. I have plain black pants also. I can go up to $150. Please help me find a really nice pair of snowboarding goggles that match my jacket and pants! (My board is black, grey, red, and blue)

I’m just thinking maybe it’s better price in Europe because they have more stuff there but I don’t know. What do you think?

Europe!
Even to get it shipped from Europe would probably be cheaper than getting it in AUS. and there is a much wider selection.
The main brand that you are going to get in AUS is Burton- and there is lots of burton stuff- but thats about it. Some spider clothing and boots too, but thats about it

I’m just looking for cheap boots and bindings, but which are better?

Lamar products aren’t very good. Go with the Salomon bindings. As for boots, try to find a snowboard shop near you and try on a bunch of different pairs. Every boot I’ve bought online , I ended up returning because they didn’t fit right. Go to a real snowboard shop and ask an employee to help you with the boots. Bring your snowboard socks if you have some. Comfy and good fitting boots is key to a great season.

Is a water proof jacket ok? I find a lot of girls and boys wearing fleece jackets instead though (which makes me uncomfortable on the slopes). Should I buy a fleece jacket instead?

Also, where can I get cheap water proof gloves? (nothing over $10 please, my parents aren’t willing to spend that much)

The keyword in your question was cheap. You cannot buy cheap in this industry or you will never be warm. If you want to want to be warm you need to buy Under Armour brand clothing. If you buy cheap stuff I guarentee that you will be cold.

I’m interested in buyin a cheap pair of snowboarding pants made by Marker.

My question is, are they poofy? What does "gillet insulation" mean?

Thanks so much!

what the heck? those are weird!

I’m looking to buy a new snowboard in Sydney, Australia and just wondering when is the best time to get the best price.

I just bought all my gear…I live near Mt Buller in Victoria and there have been huge sales to get reid of all of last years stock they didn’t sell. You can get cheap stuff at the start of the season, the end of the season or you can wait til they have summer clearances. Usually these sales are about clearing out last season’s gear. If your a person who gets the latest stuff, you will probably have to pay full whack cos they ain’t gonna put it on sale just yet.
